New Product Blog Hop

I am so sad to have to post this, but with all the chaos of getting our house ready to sell, I have not had a single moment for scrapping or paper crafting in the last 2 weeks. The really cute cards I meant to design for the blog hop are still just bouncing around in my brain, so please check back with me after September 1st (our house should be ready by then), and hopefully I will have had time to put some cards together. In the meantime, keep going on this great blog hope and check out Tracy's fabulous creations! If you get lost, there is a list posted on Erin's blog.

Taking some time off!

Hi everyone. You may have wondered what happened to me that I never posted a layout for the sketch this past Monday, and I haven't posted anything all week. Well, we decided this week to put our house on the market and move to a new house. I've been busy all week sorting through 15 years of accumulated junk! Because of that, I have not been able to do much in the way of scrapbooking, so I have decided to take the rest of the month off from blogging. I may get a chance to scrapbook, but I would rather not feel pressure to post something when my house is in total chaos. Please check back with me after September 1st and see if I have been able to create anything. On the lighter side, the real estate agent didn't tell me I had to pack up all my scrapbooking stuff in order to show the house, so at least I have access to it for however long it takes the house to sell! Thanks, and have a great remainder of the month.

EMS Sketch Challenge 18

Hmmm, just realized it's Monday night and I never posted my sketch challenge for today. I must be getting old! Here it is. I'm not quite finished with the layout, so I will try to post that tomorrow. In the meantime, see what you can do with this.

Lower Yosemite Falls Layout

Well, I'm really ripping through these Yosemite layouts, so I definitely should have the whole vacation scrapped by the end of the month.I used the pattern Rhapsody from Imagine as the basis for this layout. I changed a few photo sizes a little, but otherwise stayed pretty true to the pattern. Unusual for me, I know!

Deer Sighting Layout

This may very well be one of my all-time favorite layouts. I just love the sweet little felt deer, especially after I added some embellishments inspired by Tresa Black. I started with a sketch by Sally at Split Coast Stampers, which I rotated until the orientation worked for my pictures. I turned Sally's sun rays into tree trunks, and finished with a title cut using my Wishblade and an adorable font I just discovered, CAC pinafore. Hope you like!

EMS Sketch Challenge 17 - Crane Flats Layout

I actually started working on this challenge prior to Monday morning, so I'm posting before noon on Monday - woohoo! Not much to comment on for this layout, but I do have one tip: when adhering ribbon to a layout or card, if you're having trouble with the folded over ends not sticking, use a little Liquid Glass. Your ribbon will definitely stay put!

On (and off) the Trail Layout

Ever have times when what you planned and what you ended up doing were two totally different things? Well, this layout is one of those things. I had a very different plan in mind, but two things intervened: 1. The Heart2Heart Challenge this week was to create a piece of artwork that includes a tag and 2. I saw a cool layout (p. 34 August 2010 Scrapbooks Etc. magazine) that included tags and had the same number and size of photos as I needed to scrap. So I decided to scraplift the layout and take the challenge at the same time. Hope you like the results.

Glacier Point Layout

I never got around to posting my layout for Sketch Challenge 16 yesterday, so here it is. I didn't have B&T paper that really went well with the pictures, so I created some (the Ponderosa Pine dot paper on the left), and then clear embossed the clouds on White Daisy cardstock before brayering over them in Crystal Blue ink. The finished product isn't fancy, but I wanted to let the pictures take center stage, and hopefully I accomplished that. Isn't my husband a great photographer? Click on the layout if you want to see his marvelous pictures up close!

EMS Sketch Challenge 16

I missed last week's sketch challenge because I was out of town on Monday, so here's hoping I can get back on track. This sketch has a little flexibility to it. Although it features 2 12"x4" photos at the bottom (perfect for scrapping the panoramic shots my husband loves to take), you can easily convert them to 6"x4" prints, for a total of 9 4"x6" prints on this layout. That's right, 9! And no cropping required. Have fun, and let me see what you come up with. Happy scrapping.
