Exploring Rocky Mountain National Park Layout

Here's the first of several layouts featuring Rocky Mountain National Park. We actually visited there on two separate days while vacationing in Colorado, but I accidentally left our camera in a parking lot in Steamboat Springs, so all the photos we took on the first day were gone. Sad but true. Fortunately, this national park is just beautiful, so the pictures from our second day (with a brand new camera) pretty much made up for the ones we took originally.

Flowers Whisper Layout

Someone on Splitcoast Stampers asked a while ago if every scrapbook layout needs to be titled. Although I generally do title my layouts so people can see at a glance what the main "theme" is, I think sometimes it's okay to not do a title. In this case, since this is a continuation of my previous Yampa River Botanic Park trip, I just used a quote where I might normally have added a title or journaled a bit.

Yampa River Botanic Park Layout

I loved scrapping these photos because they are so beautiful! My hubby took tons of pictures of this botanical garden, and just looking at them makes me feel so peaceful. Hopefully my layout communicates the beauty and serenity of the place.

Moonlight Card 6

The final card for my Moonlight workshop. I decided to just emphasize the Smokey Plum on this one. The design on the patterned paper reminded me of crosses, so I thought the sentiment worked well with it. A special thank to my hubby who told me I needed to do something more with the butterfly (the wings were originally plain) and thus inspired me to stamp the design on it!

Moonlight Card 5

One more Moonlight card, and my workshop prep is almost done - woohoo! This card was a happy accident. I had tried using the pennant on another card, and it wasn't working. As I put it down on my desk, it ended up on top of a black scrap of cardstock and the green banner piece. I looked at it and decided to run with it.  Love it when that happens. The card background is actually a collage of stamps from different sets that I assembled on a block.

I have been trying to create a card with just black and orange all week so that I could play along with the Dynamic Duos color challenge.I do have a touch of green in there, but I'm going to enter it anyway, not because I think I'll win, but more for the fun of being able to say, "I did it!"

Moonlight Card 4

Still plugging away designing my Moonlight card workshop, and I thought I'd try to do this week's Heart 2 Heart challenge: Halloween or pumpkins. My ladies did not want Halloween, so pumpkins it is! I used an image from last month's stamp of the month, Fall Favorites, plus a sentiment from A Friend Like You. The card has lots of space at the bottom, so my gals can stamp whatever they want as long as it fits.

Moonlight Card 3

My friend Maria has been bugging me for weeks that I really need to get a kitty. She's even taking to posting pictures of darling kittens on Facebook, hoping to tempt me to take the plunge. So far, I've resisted, but I couldn't resist this cute kitty die-cut from the Cricut Artiste cartridge. This simple card was created in honor of Maria, my cat-loving buddy! I added a little bit of baker's twine to it, so I am entering it into the Southern Girls Tie a Ribbon Around It challenge.

Moonlight Card 2

Another card from my Moonlight workshop. I'm having fun designing non-Halloween themed cards using a Halloween paper pack. I'm entering this card in the Little Red Wagon challenge to use a bow on our project. I may not have used a very big bow on this card, but multiply it by 32 cards (how many my ladies will end up making during the workshop), and I used up all this ribbon!

Moonlight Card 1

I am in the process of designing a card workshop using the Moonlight papers, and I was having a hard time finding inspiration. All the cards and layouts I saw were Halloween themed yet none of my ladies wanted Halloween cards, so I had to get creative!  I knew I loved the owl paper, so I decided to put something together using owls, and here's the result. The sentiment is just a little bit silly, so I thought it would be perfect for the kid's card challenge over at Annabelle Stamps.

Spellbound stamp set
Moonlight Level 2 papers
Black, Grey Wool, Smokey Plum & Colonial White cardstock
Smokey Plum & Goldrush ink
Colonial White craft button
Autumn Terracotta embroidery floss

The sentiment was printed on my computer using the Curlz MT font.

Heart 2 Heart Sketch 20 - Alpine Visitor Center

The latest Heart 2 Heart Sketch is great for featuring a panorama picture while leaving room for some standard size prints. One thing I would recommend is using a small print for pieces A, D, and G, since the pattern of a larger print gets lost behind the banner. As always, please feel free to adapt the sketch to meet your needs, and post a link to your completed layout on the Heart 2 Heart blog so we can enjoy it!

Some Like It Hot Layout

For my final hot springs layout, I had lots of fun with the title. I cut the whole thing out on my Wishblade using Vanilla Cream paper, then I sponged the smaller letters in Taffy ink, and the larger one in Taffy and Goldrush. Does it look hot enough? I also played along with the following challenges:
Annabelle Stamps:

4 Crafty Chicks: use a tag
Let's Scrap Scrap Your Stash #21: use 4 patterned papers, 3 colors of cardstock,  4 die-cuts & 12 blingy things.

Update: This layout was the weekly challenge favorite over at Annabelle Stamps!
