Despicable Me Card

For my son's 9th birthday, he wants a Despicable Me party, complete with an army of minions! Of course, I had to create minion invitations to go with the theme, so I got to work using Cricut Craft Room and my Art Philosophy cartridge, and welded shapes together until I had my perfect minion. Hope you like. Now I'm off to create decorations and plan how to take over the world!
My hard work paid off - I was featured on 4 Crafty Chicks!

White Daisy, Buttercup, Indian Corn Blue, Goldrush, Slate & Black cardstock
Black marker
Googly eyes (JoAnns)

My Work Here is Done Layout

I've been really busy this month with non-scrapbook related activities so I'm easing back into scrapping with this simple layout. I was inspired by sketch 263 over at Creative Scrappers. Although it called for a 6"x12" photo, I thought it also worked well by adjusting it for four 4" x 5.5" photos.

I love the sticker because it says everything I secretly believe my kids are thinking!

I used quite a variety of stamps, some old, some new, and all the die-cuts were cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. San Diego Zoo Layout

Since Monday was the third day of the third month, Heart 2 Heart challenged us to create a triple play. For me, that meant adding three felt shapes to my layout. I'm trying really hard to use up older papers before buying a bunch of new ones, so I pulled out the old Twitterpated paper pack and used some large pieces of patterned paper. I also used my last three pieces of chipboard that matched the Twitterpated papers, plus I added three craft buttons for another triple play. My title has three words in it, I used three patterned papers, and my final triple play is the three stitches near the title. Wow, that's a lot of threes! Don't forget to hop over to Heart 2 Heart to play along with the challenge.

Orlando Layout

Sketch 'n Scrap had a new sketch I wanted to try, so I pulled out some of my Laughing Lola paper to create one last layout for my family's 2010 Orlando trip, an intro page for our vacation. The pretty blue in the papers seemed a good match for the shade of the water in my pool photo, so I think the papers work even though there's no purple in either photo! I'm trying to loosen up on the matchy-matchy thing (since everyone tells me my colors don't have to match exactly), but it's always a struggle for me to try something new. Anyone else have this issue?

EMS Sketch Challenge 54

Welcome to the March sketch challenge! This month's sketch is a single pager, but it could easily be spread over two pages simply by duplicating and reversing the elements, and exchanging the title circle for a journaling spot on the second page. Enjoy the sketch, and don't forget to link your completed layout based on the sketch below so I can leave you some love. For every five participants, I will choose a guest designer for May!
Due to out of town guests and lack of foresight on my part, I haven't picked up my photos from Costco that I want to scrap for this sketch. I'll try to get my layout done later this week, so be sure to check back!

Update: Finally got the layout done for this sketch, so please check it out here!
