Blessings Layout

For these pictures of my kids and the dogs at the park, I played along with the Photos With Pets challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. We also had to use a diagonal, tear the edge, and use washi tape. This ended up working perfectly with my new sketch for December, so consider this your sneak peak until I post the actual sketch on Monday!

Honey ink
Black marker
Great Lengths stickers (CM)

I'm switching back to London vacation pages for the moment since I wanted to complete a travel themed challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. This building looked medieval yet when I looked it up, it was actually completed in 1913 - go figure!

Snow Monster Smash Layout

Earlier this year I created several layouts in which my daughter was wearing an Elsa (from Frozen) costume, so I was kinda over Frozen, even though I still had more photos to scrap. A couple of things reanimated my creativity this week: a glitter + snowman challenge from Double Trouble, and finding a partially used Frozen sticker book when I deep cleaned my daughter's room. She's pretty much out-grown Frozen, so she let me have the book and I was able to use a few stickers on this layout, so hooray for recycling! FYI: I've been ask to be a guest designer for Double Trouble for the month of December, so be sure to check back Monday to see my Double Trouble inspired layout.

Thanksgiving 2014 Layout

Fun photos with family at our Thanksgiving feast in 2014. Not sure I'm loving the turkey die-cut. It feels like I should have put a platter under it rather than letting it hang out in space that way! Oh well, I don't think there would be room so you'll have to put up with the flying turkey on this layout - LOL.
Recipe:
It's Your Day, Alphabet Solos T & Feel So Blessed stamp set
Grace papers
White Daisy cardstock
Barn Red, Bamboo, Cocoa, Honey & Twilight ink

I hadn't yet broken into the Hawthorne paper pack that I ordered from CTMH last month, but it seemed the perfect match for these photos! Love the fun patterns in this pack, and I played along with a bunch of challenges (see below) to accessorize these photos of a family bike ride at Bonelli Park.

Fall 2014 Layout

I don't have much call for falling leaves layouts here in Southern California (palm trees don't lose their leaves - LOL!), so my supply of fall themed paper and embellishments is quite small. I had to deep dive into my stash to find some leaf paper scraps to use on this fall themed layout. Even though there aren't any leaves on them, the photos were all taken in fall, so that inspired my title. I also tried a little mixed media on this layout, with stamping, paints, and embossing. It's not my forte, but hopefully it looks okay!
Recipe:
November Word Puzzle, Diverse Backgrounds & Canvas Art Workshop stamp sets
Leaf paper (from my stash)
Almond cardstock
Vellum
Barn Red, Cashmere, Saddle & Versamark ink
Gold embossing powder
Fall Leaves Accessory Kit (Amscan)
Chocolate Brown leather stickers (All My Memories)
Anita's earth Brown acrylic paint
Mocha Opaques pearls
Pattern: EMS Sketch 62
Challenges: The Paper Girls #188 family theme (since my photos were already family themed, I was inspired to dig out the tiny "Family Fun" stamp and use it on this layout); The Studio Challenges mood board inspiration (I was inspired by the fall color scheme, the leaves, the gold embossed book cover, and the texture of the brown sweater)

EMS Sketch Challenge 81 + Football Fans Layout

I didn't get around to creating a double page sketch earlier this month, but I did manage to get creative and designed this single pager with space for three uncropped 4" x 6" photos. I kept my sample pretty close to the sketch. Thanks to my hubby who wrote down the details of this event so I could journal on the layout. I never go to these games so it was great to have a first hand account! Remember, if you use the sketch, please post a link in the comments section below so I can check out what you did with it.

The sketch:

My layout:

Celebrating Freedom Pinwheel & Patriotic papers (Bo-Bunny)
Sapphire, Chocolate & White Daisy cardstock
Sapphire & Cranberry ink
Black marker
Red Pearls
Cricut Artbooking cartridge: title, football

Dad & Me Layout

I had a few miscellaneous photos of my little ones with my husband, so I cropped them and used them to create a layout about a daddy's love for his children. The journaling is from George Strait's song "Love Without End, Amen" and it perfectly expresses my husband's love for these children, even during the difficult adjustment phase when they were first learning to call him Daddy.

Recipe:
Wide Journal Block stamp set (Scrappy Cat)
CTMH Fall 2019 Mix-In papers
Color Kaleidoscope papers (American Crafts)
Hydrangea ink
DE Monograms "D", "A", "M", "E"
Milepost Shapes
Narratives by Karren Russell chipboard (Creative Imaginations)
Color Kaleidoscope Puffy Thickers - Phrases & Icons (American Crafts)
Pattern: Stick It Down November 2019 Single Page Sketch - I rotated the sketch to the left and replaced the swags with parentheses and patterned paper strips.

Challenges: Lasting Memories # Polka Dot patterned paper; The Paper Girls #187 Mixed Up Manufacturers (I used products from CTMH, American Crafts, Creative Imaginations, and Scrappy Cat)

Trunk or Treat 2014 Layout

This layout finishes up the last of my costumed photos from 2014, and there were lots of them! I kept this layout kinda simple, but I did create the title in Cricut Design Space by modifying a pre-done title that said Trick or Treat so that it said Trunk or Treat. The kids got candy at every decorated car trunk at this event, which meant they took home lots of candy, so I went with a candy theme rather than a spooky Halloween or costume focus.
Recipe:
Jeepers Creepers papers, stickers & shimmer die-cut
Black, Gypsy, Lagoon & Clover Meadow cardstock
Gypsy, Lagoon & Clover Meadow ink
Black marker
Lagoon enamel dots
Cricut Artbooking cartridge: title, candy
Pattern: EMS Sketch Challenge 2
Challenges: Bitten By the Bug fall holiday (obviously I chose Halloween); Heart 2 Heart Full Circle (if you include the enamel dots, there are a bunch of circles on this layout!)

Finding Our Tree Layout

I was asked to be a guest designer this month over at The Joy of Sets (see the tic-tac-toe grid below), and I decided to go with the top row for CAS (clean and simple), winter, and heat embossing. Clean and simple can look really dramatic on a card, but for a scrapbook layout, you have to get it just right or it looks boring. Hopefully the winter scene struck the right balance, and I certainly had fun using my Versamark pen and white embossing powder to add snow to the trees and title! The challenge goes to the end of November, so please pop on over and play along.
Recipe:
Trinity Alphabet stamp set
Red plaid paper (CM)
Carolina, New England Ivy, Pacifica & White Daisy cardstock
New England Ivy ink
Black marker
Versamark pen
White embossing powder
Natural hemp
Liquid Glass
Cricut Artbooking cartridge: trees
Cricut Here & There cartidge: car
Challenges: Joy of Sets #11
