I just finished my first layout in my new scrapbook room. Hopefully it will be the first of many to come! Nothing like leaving this week's layout until the last minute, right? I used one of Sally's Sketches from Split Coast Stamping for the design. Hope you like it!

Week 4 Layout Linky
We're in our new house and I finally have internet hooked up! Could life get any better? Well, yes, IKEA could get a shipment of the shelving unit I really want for my scraproom so that I could get my stuff set up. But at least I'm getting closer to being able to scrap. Anyway, I promise to scrapbook by Friday so that I can post a layout for the challenge. In the meantime, please post your layouts so I can admire them.
***If you are participating in the challenge, please use the link below to link your layout to this post. You have until Friday at 11:59PM PST to post your fourth week's layout. Week 3 Layout Linky
In contrast to last week, this week I'm posting early since I will not have internet access for the rest of the week. I probably won't have scrapbooking access either because my new office isn't set up yet. All my scrapbook stuff is in it, but so is everything else that our friends didn't know where it went! I really want to get busy scrapping, but I have to dig through a lot of junk first. Hopefully by next week . . . Anyway, please link your layouts so that when we get our internet hooked up, I will be able to use my blazing hot internet access (we're getting Verizon Fios - woohoo!) to check out your layout.

Week 2 Layout Linky - Day's End Layout
Sorry I'm posting this so late in the week. I meant to get it done yesterday, but I got really busy. Why? Because we're moving tomorrow! Woohoo! It's taken a long time, but we finally closed escrow. I managed to get this layout scrapped in breaks between packing, so it's pretty simple, but with photos like these taking center stage, I guess that's okay. I used a brayer and Sunset ink to create my background paper, with a little bit of Sunflower ink sponged on in places. The results are beautiful. Trust me, my scan does not do it justice. I used the Week 90 sketch from the Nuts About Sketches blog. Just an FYI, I will not have internet access all next week, so hopefully I can figure out how to get a link posted . . .

Week 1 Layout Linky - Earning the Badge Layout
I completed my week 1 layout for the 52 Layouts a Year Challenge! Yay, 1 down, only 51 to go. Let me encourage you, if I can do this in the midst of moving to a new home, all of you can do it, too. I used pictures from our Grand Canyon trip in 2007, and here's something fun I did for this layout: I scanned the picture of the Junior Ranger badge from Adrian's certificate and sent it to Costco to be printed as a photo, then cut it out and used it as a design element on my layout. It's a fun way to add memorabilia that would be too bulky to include in its original format.

52 Layout Challenge
Happy New Year, everyone. Hope you all are starting the year in good health and with high hopes for a great year. I have started January with a layout a day (LOAD) challenge for the last couple of years, but that's probably not such a hot idea right now since I have to pack up all my stuff Wednesday to transport it to the new house. I'd like to think it's the first thing I'll unpack, but I have to be realistic. My husband will probably think it's more important to have toothpaste than scrapbook supplies! In lieu of a LOAD challenge, I want to issue a weekly challenge, inspired by fellow CTMH consultant Jen Rubio. What if, instead of collecting scrapbook supplies, you actually used them? Novel concept, huh? Well, I want to challenge you in 2011 to complete a scrapbook layout every week. If you complete just one layout every week of the year, you will have 52 layouts by the end of the year! That's enough to fill a whole album. I will create a weekly post to which you can link your layout, and we will keep track together of how many layouts you can complete. I will issue a point for each layout completed, redeemable at the end of the year for scrapbooking supplies. You must complete at least 40 layouts, posted weekly, to be eligible to receive your rewards. Who is interested? Please let me know ASAP since the clock has already started ticking on 2011!
