Woof Means I Love You Layout for Lasting Memories #639

It's Sunday, so here's another mood board challenge from Lasting Memories! At first, I was trying to think if I had any police or fire engine photos I could scrap, but I eventually zeroed in on the dogs and decided to do a dog themed layout.  Other design team members focused on the color combo, so there are lots of options you could try, but hurry, because this and all the other February challenges close on Saturday, March 4 at 6pm EST!

I'm trying to see how much mileage I can get out of my most recent sketch, so here is another layout based on the sketch, but rotated right this time. These photos were taken at the Discovery Cube in Orange County, which I always considered a place for younger kids (middle school and below), but when my high school senior and freshman saw this layout, they wanted to go visit again. Go figure! Just in case you can't read the journaling, it says, "The kids built edible cars from cookies and candy before grabbing a cart to do some environmentally friendly grocery shopping. So much fun!"

2 of a Kind Buddies for Lasting Memories #638

Since I have a bunch of kids, I'm really enjoying the Lasting Memories this month, but this week's friendship challenge is one that could be used for anyone of any age. Here's the Challenge board:

My layout features pictures of my two youngest kids enjoying Legoland together. They were in foster care for four years and had to rely on each other, so their relationship became very close. I used my latest sketch again but moved the vertical picture towards the top and put the title below it.

Joy's 8th Birthday Layout

Be Mine Valentine's Day Card

TMNT Layout

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles exhibit at the Discovery Cube in Orange County featured many interactive activities for my kids to experience. My youngest son used to love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so I enjoyed revisiting this fun memory as I scrapbooked a few of the pictures.

Push the Limits Layout for Lasting Memories #636

I am excited to announce that I have joined the Lasting Memories Design Team as of this month! Challenges: Time Out Challenges #231 Photo Inspiration (I was inspired to use the mixed media paper with multiple colors across it as my background and to use a title with white writing on a colored background)

Bridal Shower Card for Kayla

The daughter of a friend of mine is getting married and I needed a card for her bridal shower, so I got to work designing something that would match the gift bag I am using. For some reason, my mojo wasn't exactly kicking in, so it took a long time, but in the end I discarded all my earlier ideas and went for something rather simple based on the current sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday. Here's my card:

And here's the sketch. I used flowers to create the half circle shape at the right end of the card

I also added the butterflies to represent the bride and groom. I was going to go with love birds but was inspired by the latest board from Tic-Tac-Toe Challenges to use butterflies instead. I used the column with die cuts + layers + butterfly.

My final inspiration was from Crafting Happiness' Love challenge, which prompted me to choose the sentiment "With Love," to both reflect the love the the happy couple and the love our family has for them! Here's the sentiment with the butterflies; I added some glitter to them using a clear shimmer brush.

EMS Sketch Challenge #107 + Adventure Under the Sea Layout

Do any other scrappers have a stash of  8.5" x 11" papers that you probably should use but have ignored because they aren't the right size for 12" x 12" layouts? If so, this sketch is for you! It features three 8.5" x 11" papers in addition to five uncropped 4" x 6" photos. Although both pages are loosely tied together with the narrow piece of paper or ribbon that extends all the way across the layout, you could also easily use either page on a single layout.
