Not So Awesome Injury Layout

For these pictures of my son's broken elbow, I wanted to play along with Lasting Memories icon paper challenge, so I pulled out one of CMTH's Something Fierce papers that has everything from dinosaurs to ice cream cones on it. I combined it with a sketch from Sketches in Thyme and the big "awesome" title, which I took in a completely different direction than most people would!

Update: This layout was picked as a top three for Sketches in Thyme - woohoo!

Something Fierce & I Heart Us papers

Carnival Fun 2014 Layout

Between using a few of these photos last year for my daughter's school album and some more for a layout of the kids in costume, I feel like I've scrapped these photos a lot, but I think this is my last time! I scraplifted a layout from Scrapbook.com and played along with several challenges for inspiration.

Trick or Treat double sided paper from my stash
Creme Brulee, Lilac Mist, Sunset, Canary & White Daisy cardstock
Sunset, Lilac Mist and Greg Wool ink
Black marker
Sunset twine

Orange eyelets (Making Memories)
Cats & Bats enamel dots

Cloud edge scissors (Fiskars)
Artistry cartridge: pumpkin, arrow
Challenges: Bitten By the Bug Pumpkin theme; The Studio Challenges one piece of patterned paper (mine was two sided, so I used both sides); Use Your Stuff #379 tic-tac-toe (I chose the enamel dots, metal and stamp column plus the enamel dots, arrow, and blue row)

EMS Sketch Challenge 80 + Capture Layout

I meant to post this yesterday but was having trouble finishing my sample page. However, better late than never, and you can use this any time, so enjoy! For these photos taken at our city's Public Safety Open House, I thought it was appropriate to use the title "Capture," especially since my son posed in the (fake) jail cell. I was inspired by Adeline Hill's song "Moments to Memories," where she says "time is moving faster than ever" and we need to capture those moments before they are just memories.

The sketch:

My layout:
Recipe:
Fall 2019 Mix-In paper pack
Sapphire & French White cardstock
Sapphire, Saffron & Juniper ink
Black marker
Color Kaleidoscope Puffy Thickers - Phrases and Icons (American Crafts)
Color Kaleidoscope stickers (American Crafts)
Let's Go Tidbits (Chic Tags)
Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge: scalloped border
Challenges: Double Trouble #41 - Thing1 = Halloween colors (I used blue, green, and yellow) + Thing 2 = play along with Crafting Happiness #19 Halloween colors (I used the colors but not the Halloween theme) + Thing 3 = include something that flies (birds); Heart 2 Heart use the color Julep (fun new color for me!)

Blessed Layout

Even though several of the kids are squinting at the sun, I still love this picture because it's the first posed one we have of us as a family of six. I used words from Martina McBride's song "Blessed" as my journaling. It expresses my feelings towards my family and all God has given me quite well!

Challenges: Heart 2 Heart Fall challenge (with Fall being a season of gratitude, I went with a theme of counting my blessings); Joy of Sets #10 (I used the top row across with paper leaves, burlap ribbon, and bronze Magic Mesh)

A Promise for a Princess Layout

The local shopping plaza offers carriage rides, and we had a lovely time taking my daughter, all dressed up in her Elsa costume Grandma made for her! This layout was challenging to create because I couldn't find just the right papers to use with the Elsa blue and my son's green shirt, but I finally purchased some glitter and watercolor papers and combined them with some really old pastel vellum from my stash. Hopefully you enjoy the result!
