Week 13 Layout Linky - Sing Layout

I went away to a scrapbook retreat this weekend, so I got quite a few layouts done. Here's another one from the Bible Boot Camp VBS our church did last summer. I used a Becky Higgins sketch and the new craft paper from CTMH. FYI: this paper is great, and it's perfect for anything army. Well, it's perfect for a lot of things, but that's what I happened to be scrapping this weekend! I did lots of multiple ink stamping on this layout. For a few, I was able to get multiple colors on the stamp just by inking up the stamp on the edge of the pad, but for the guitar I had to use a sponge to apply the Pansy Purple ink. I like how it came out really muted, especially in comparison to the star I stamped over it. Same ink, two different looks. Cool!

Star Power & Extreme Caps stamp sets
You Rock Level 2 papers
Olive, Craft & Colonial White cardstock
Olive, Pansy Purple, Outdoor Denim, Goldrush & Desert Sand ink

Week 12 Layout Linky + EMS Sketch Challenge 26 - Lexi Layout

This month, the Let's Get Peachy blog posted a Roll 'Em Challenge. I went to the Roll 'Em site, rolled three dice, and got a 4, 5 & 2. That means I needed to put together a layout using 4 photos, 5 patterned papers, and 2 embellishments. This was perfect for some photos of my cute niece Lexi, plus it worked for a sketch I created, so I combined the two challenges. Fun! The twist on the Let's Get Peachy challenge was to use spring colors, which I mostly did. Black isn't very springy, but it made a nice contrast. My two embellishments are chipboard letters and stamped butterflies.

Bible Boot Camp Layout

Wow, this is my second layout this week! I guess I'm making up for my non-activity the previous two weeks. Mr. Mojo is back. The Lasting Memories blog is having a challenge this week: create a layout using green and white (in honor of St. Patrick's Day, of course). I don't have any St. Patty's pictures, but I did have some photos from last summer's vacation Bible school program. The theme was Bible Boot Camp, so there is lots of army green and camouflage in my photos. I used the pattern Magic Act from Jeanette Lynton's book Magic, and created some camouflaged paper by sponging New England Ivy, Olive, and Desert Sand ink on Bamboo cardstock. I really liked how the layout turned out, except I wish I had written VBS 2010 at the side of the page instead of where I put it. Oh well, can't win 'em all, right?

Hero's Pride, Extreme Caps & Journaling Jots stamp sets
Mistletoe Level 2 papers
Desert Sand, Bamboo & Colonial White cardstock

Week 11 Layout Linky - Family Party Layout

I am determined to get ahead of the game this week and post early, so here it is! I decided to take a break from scrapping vacation photos, and Michele from Split Coast Stampers had the perfect challenge for me this morning: scrapbook a birthday party. This was a family party, so all the kids in my hubby's extended family got to celebrate at one time. I received the Good Times paper pack in my consultant kit when I started with CTMH in 2008, but hadn't used it all up, so I figured this was a good time to pull it out and use it. I also used the Week 92 Sketch from the Nuts about Sketches blog.

Recipe:
Good Times paper pack & My Stickease
Sweet Leaf & Buttercup cardstock
Chocolate ink
Chocolate brads
Twilight marker
White gel pen (Marvy)

Week 10 Layout Linky + EMS SKetch Challenge 25 - The Real Story Behind the Ruins Layout

I'm really late posting my layout again this week, but I have a great excuse - pneumonia! Yes, I have been in bed all week, coughing, wheezing, chest pains, etc. Not a fun week. I managed to put together a layout in spite of that (plus having my parents-in-law here and a birthday party to plan), so I'm pretty proud of myself. This week, the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog asked us to create a scene using three or more stamps, which was perfect for this layout. (Actually, I just went back and checked and it was supposed to be a scene on a card, but hopefully they'll forgive my illness-induced confusion!) I used the mountains and clouds from Beautiful Things, the grass from True Happiness, and the bricks from Around the Block, three totally different style stamp sets, yet I think they came together really well. I also used a sketch this week, so feel free to check it out for next week's layout if you like it. Can't wait to see your layouts for week 10, ladies!

Week 9 Layout Linky

Hopefully I will finish a layout this week, but no promises! I've been busy designing and assembling 30+ birthday party invitations for my son's sixth birthday party that is coming up in a week. Not much time for scrapping, but I hope to get to it this afternoon. In the meantime, here's the layout link for those who are patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for it!
