Week 17 Layout Linky - You Warm My Heart Layout

For these cute pictures of my boys toasting marshmallows, I used the Spellbound pattern from Magic and rotated it to work with my photos. I'll probably be using my Animal Cookies papers for a while, since I bought another pack when it was on sale. I love this paper! Although my boys used coat hangers and not a stick to roast their marshmallows, I though a little bit of artistic license was okay.

Week 16 Layout Linky - Family Layout

Wow, week 16. . . This year is flying past! My latest layout uses pictures taken last fall, which seems like just yesterday. We were able to spend time with my SIL and her kids when they were in town. Doesn't that Mayberry paper make you want to smile? It's so cheerful and homey - love it. I used one page of the Charmed pattern from Magic and stamped images from the Family Ties stamp sets in order to recreate the people in the pictures. The images are partly paper-pieced and partly colored with watercolor pencils.

Detail of the little people:

Family Ties Adult, Family Ties Children, Tiny Typewriter Alphabet & Classmate Alphabet stamp sets

Trick or Treat Layout

I've always been impressed with Jeanette Lynton's ability to mix patterned papers from different packs in order to create a beautiful layout or card, so I thought I would try my hand at it. I started with the argyle paper from Zippidee, cutting it so the it highlighted the Honey and White Daisy diamonds, and then chose the Black and Bamboo polka dot paper from Silhouette to complement it. The Black and Honey cardstock background ties them together, and then I added the chipboard stars, inked with Honey ink, for accents.

Week 15 Layout Linky - Pumpkin Carving Layout

Have you ever looked at a set of photos and wished you had just a little more room on your scrapbook page? Well, CTMH has a great solution: Flip-Flaps. They are clear pockets that attach to the outside of your page protector, and swing open so you can see the photos on both sides. CTMH started with Flip-Flaps for your 4"x6" photos, and then came out with a selection of 12" long ones in different widths. For this layout, I used a 12"x6" Flip-Flap and a 4"x6" one. I started with the pattern Top Hat from Magic, with the right hand page rotated one turn to the right, which is what you see when the Flip-Flaps are closed. The long flap on the left hand page swings open to reveal 4 more photos. On the other page, the photo next to the word "carving" lifts up and you see two more photos underneath. I fit twelve photos on this layout, and it still has lots of breathing space. For a multi-photo scrapper like me, this is just short of heaven!

With the 12"x6" flap closed:

Pumpkin Patch Layout

My boys love going to the pumpkin patch, but not for the pumpkins. Nope, they love the rides! I usually have to bribe (or threaten) them to get them to pose for a picture with the pumpkins. Last year was no exception, but I'm glad we managed to get a good mix of photos of them having fun and just looking cute for the camera. The resulting layout uses Sketch Support 2 Page Sketch #1, plus one of the lovely diecuts that came in my Felicity kit. The title was cut out using a Cricut cartridge belonging to my scrap buddy Beth, but I didn't write down which cartridge it was. Oops! Well, it looks great anyway, right? Beth worked really hard learning how to weld words together on her Gypsy, and she created the title for me, so a big thanks to Beth.

Week 14 Layout Linky - Sense of Wonder Layout

Happy Saturday morning, everyone. Hope you all are enjoying Spring Break if this is your week to have it off. We're heading out today for a family vacation, so I'm scheduling a few post for while I'm gone. I just love this layout of my two boys playing with their trains. The Animal Cookies papers may be discontinued, but I think they will always be one of my favorite packs. They are so perfect for little boy layouts! For the pattern, I used Hat Trick from Magic, but instead of a 8"x6" photo on the left hand page, I chose to use three smaller photos. I also placed another photo where the journaling box should be, thus creating a 6 photo layout where the book calls for three. I also got to break out some of the new craft buttons. I'm loving the one shaped like a flower.

Recipe:
Animal Cookies Level 2 papers & My Stickease
White Daisy & Desert Sand cardstock
Tulip, Desert Sand & Dutch Blue ink
Craft buttons
Embroidery floss
Pizzazz Irresistibles chipboard

Training Layout

I wanted to post another layout I created this past weekend at the scrapbook retreat, but first a quick reminder: today is the last day to link your Week 13 layout if you are participating in the 52 Week Challenge. Now, on to my layout, another one from VBS, this one highlighting the fun games the kids played. I used a Becky Higgins' sketch and managed to pack 20 pictures onto here. I used a couple of products from companies other than CTMH because I was running out of creative ideas for camouflage, and I thought the natural chipboard added a nice touch to the theme of the page. I popped up a couple of the chipboard letters in the title, partly to help it fit in that space and partly because I liked the look. Hope you do, too!

Camouflage paper (Creative Imaginations)
Garden Green, Cocoa & Desert Sand cardstock
