Joy of Sets Challenge #16 + So Handy Layout

It's time for another Joy of Sets Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! I kinda cracked myself up with this grid because I kept dreaming up ways to use the individual squares but they never seemed to go in a straight line. I put on my thinking cap and came up with a "move" that ended up getting me a win using the column with ribbon, ink blending, and heat embossing! LOAD #27 - Hands of Mercy

Here's the second layout for our Mexico trip. A team of 15 adults from our church, plus 3 people from an organization called Hands of Mercy, built a loft house in one day for a needy couple who were expecting their first child. It was hot, tiring work, but totally worth it to see the look on the faces of that young couple. The layout came together a lot easier than the loft house, and will evoke happy memories in years to come. It's pretty simple, but I included a Flip-Flap that holds an extra photo and my journaling.

Sorry I'm posting this so late. I spent most of the morning getting my next batch of photos organized (I'm down to one layout's worth of photos to scrap), and with the kids back in school, Mom gets to help with homework. Yuk! I'll have to plan better for the rest of the month. Enjoy the layout, and I hope you ladies are scrapping up a storm.

Father's Day Card

I always have a hard time coming up with cards for my dad, but this year, I was inspired! One attribute of my dad's that really stands out to me is his work ethic. He is the most hardworking man I know, so I decided to make a card that celebrates this characteristic in a fun way. I used the pattern Upright from the Originals card book. I don't usually make 8" x 3.5" cards because I never know how to send them, but I just realized that they will fit in a standard letter-sized envelope - duh! Here's the outside of the card, which is very serious and classic looking.



And here's the inside, which hopefully will make my dad laugh.
