Great Fountain Garden Layout

The gardens at Hampton Court were as stunning, in a very different way, as the interiors of the palace. For this layout of the Great Fountain Garden, I scraplifted the left side of this layout from my friend Lela, and added a Flip-Flap with a journaling card and another photo underneath the vertical photo. I feel like I took a risk with the color scheme, since it's not typical shades of garden or water colors and the red isn't found anywhere in my photos, but I like the way it turned out.

Here are my journaling card and picture that are under the Flip-Flap:

And here are the photos from the facing pocket page:

Hampton Court Artwork Layout

This series of pictures from the final rooms of William III's apartments at Hampton Court didn't seem to have much in common, so I struggled to find a title, but since they all showed some of the artwork displayed around the palace, I decided to focus on that. This ended up taking a lot of my time, since I hadn't taken pictures of the labels telling what the paintings were! I went on a treasure hunt to find out the names and subjects of these painting and of the ones on the facing pocket page. Most of them were listed on the Royal Collection Trust's website, but I didn't manage to find the title or artist for the view of Hampton Court on the upper right. If anyone is visiting Hampton Court in the near future, please let me know what it is!
And the facing pocket page pictures:

Sweet Dreams Layout

I vacillated between several titles for this layout featuring King William III's royal bedchambers at Hampton court, but I finally settled on Sweet Dreams due to the ceiling painting of Mars, God of war,  sleeping in the arms of Venus, goddess of love. I knew I wanted to include a moon and stars plus a cloud or two to go with the theme of the other painting, but the Lasting Memories' Paint/Mist challenge inspired me to add pearly paint to the clouds (swirly) and moon and stars (brushed). Love the texture and shimmer it adds to this element!
And here you can see the paint detail a little better.
And since I am adding a pocket page opposite, here are the photos and journal cards for that!

Rooms of Privilege Layout

Still plugging away at the William III rooms at Hampton Court, so here is another layout featuring pictures from William's Privy Chamber and withdrawing room. FYI: a privy chamber is not a fancy name for a bathroom, it's actually a room that only certain of the king's courtiers and statesmen were privileged to enter and be privy to discussions of state, thus the name. The withdrawing room, a chamber where the king could withdraw to discuss private or secret matters, was even more exclusive. To scrapbook these rooms, I create a traditional layout and added a pocket page, complete with journaling box, to show off additional photos.
For my journaling card, I used a Sketch from Sketches in Time PL Style and added a tag to tie it in with the main page:

King's Guard Chamber & Presence Chamber Layout

When it came to scrapping these photos from Hampton Court, I didn't have a really creative title for the layout, but at least it's descriptive, right? While looking for papers that coordinated with these pictures, I remembered a layout I had started as part of a creative class at a CTMH convention way back in 2011. It's taken this long to actually put some pictures on the background, part of the reason I don't like doing layout classes! I added some other embellishments and a title to finish it off, and now I have one less unfinished layout lurking in my stash - hooray!

This layout features a flip-flap that hides two additional pictures, and will go in my scrapbook facing a photo storage page with more pictures from the same rooms, so I thought I would post the other photos as well.

Father's Day 2018 Card

We just finished a week of Shipwrecked vacation Bible school at church, and I was in charge of Imagination Station (all the science experiments), so not much crafting has been going on at my house! I had a great time with the kids, and I learned a lot, but now I'm ready to get some scrapping done. But first, here's a card I created for my hubby from the kids for Father's Day. I started with a sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap and used all scraps, including leftovers from a previous Father's Day sticker pack, so I had to make a few changes to make the sketch work for me. I didn't have a wide enough piece of the black background, so I just offset the red piece of cardstock and extended the banner onto a border all the way across the card. This is actually my second time using this fun sketch; I did end of year teacher cards, but I forgot to take a photo before I gave them away - silly me!
