Fun Times {Sleepy Sunday} Layout

Our church has a fun spring event for the kids when daylight savings begins: they celebrate Sleepy Sunday and get to come to Sunday school in their pajamas! This layout was quick and easy because I used lots of stickers as my title and embellishments.

Recipe:
Blue Skies paper & cardstock stickers
Watercolor paper (Recollections)
Lagoon & Green Apple cardstock
Lagoon & Green Apple ink
Black marker
Childhood PML card
Cricut Artistry cartridge: arrows
Pattern: Sketches In Thyme #504 (stretched into a double)

Challenges: Double Trouble #104 Hoodie Hoo Day (I played along with Thing 1's spring theme by scrapbooking about a spring event but couldn't do the fun fold challenge because I didn't create a card)

Level Up Layout

A fun event for our church kids back in 2016. I didn't manage to get any photos of the kids actually playing video games, so I tried to recreate the feel of their video game competition using the Pro-Player papers and lots of sponging to give everything a slightly grungy feel. This worked especially well with the title letters since the Ruby red cardstock was a lot brighter than the Ruby in the patterned papers, so it helped them become a better color match!
Recipe:
Distressed Backgrounds stamp set
ProPlayer papers
Whisper, Slate & Ruby cardstock
Whisper, Slate, Outdoor Denim & Black ink
Black marker
Grey epoxy bubbles
Slate polka dot washi tape
Tim Holtz Rays stencil (Stampers Anonymous)
Cricut Artiste cartridge: title
Pattern: Sketches in Thyme #313

Challenges: Heart 2 Heart Sponge It (sponged edges of papers + sponged ink on a stencil to create the rays)

Kinder Fashion Layout

For this random picture of my son wearing a pretty hilarious combination of clothing, I picked out some patterned papers from different CTMH paper packs and added a few embellishments from my stash. Since Valentine's Day was month, I wanted to add some hearts, but I found ones in colors other than the traditional red or pink. Hope you all like it!

Hunt Layout

I started working on this layout back in November, but only got the base papers laid down and the photos adhered before inspiration dried up. This week, I determined to finish it with the help of a couple of challenges to help my mojo get flowing! I also created a journaling card that will be on the facing photo storage page along an assortment of photos of the hunt. The journaling is partly my own and partly from the British Museum's blog.

And here are a few of the photos that will be in the photo storage page:

Friends {March 2016} Layout

My daughter has always struggled to read, so these photos of her reading to her little brother are especially precious to me. I included some hidden journaling about it on the tag with the twine pull sting. It says: "Brianna, reading has been a huge struggle for you, so it was sweet to see you reading to your brother. What a blessing when your kids turn out to be friends as well as siblings."

Dream Layout

I suppose this layout really should have been titled Fantasy, since the pictures were taken at Fantasyland, but I had the die-cut for "dream" in a pretty font on one of my Cricut cartridges, so that became the title! The color scheme was a little tricky with the variety of blues and the purple of Dumbo's hat, but with the help of the latest Color My Heart color dare, I picked out some shades that worked well for the photos. Enjoy!

I created a shaker using a die-cut frame, vellum, and 3-D foam tape, and filled it with sequin flowers. The scan of it didn't come out well because of the extra dimension, so here's a close up of it.

And here's the journaling card I created to go on the facing photo storage page with some additional photos.

Recipe:
I Heart Us & Spring 2020 Mix In papers
Mint, Amethyst, Bluebird & Pixie cardstock
Vellum
Bluebird, Amethyst & Pixie ink
I Heart Us die-cut banners
Junebug & Stick on You Puffies
White Daisy baker's twine & grosgrain ribbon
Flower sequins (Tree House Studio)
3-D foam tape
Liquid Glass
Cricut Artbooking cartridge: frame
Cricut Wall Decor & More cartridge: title
Pattern: EMS Sketch Challenge 17

Challenges: Color My Heart Color Dare #482 (I had to improvise on a couple of the colors, but I did my best!)

Tic Tac Toe Challenges #147 (I used the middle row across with Shaker + Purple and Pink + Word die-cut)

Love These People Layout

Living in Southern California, we always have to drive at least an hour to get to the snow, so it's fun that this is my second snow themed layout I have scrapped this year. These are my only photos from February 2016 (no Valentines photos that year for some reason), so I wanted to incorporate a love theme into the layout somehow. I decided to use the big "Love These People" stamp as my title, and then added stamped, punched, and die-cut hearts, as well as the heart tag that was recycled from one of my kid's outfits. It's been hanging on my bulletin board for a couple of years, just waiting for the right moment to use it, and I think this was the perfect occasion!

Recipe:
All Decked Out, Love These People, You Warm My Heart & Best Friends Forever stamp sets
Snowhaven papers
Glacier, Cranberry & White Daisy cardstock
Glacier, Cranberry, Whisper & Black ink
Black marker
Seas the Day & Black enamel dots

Black string (from the tag)
Red gingham ribbon (Offray)
3-D foam tape

Pattern: EMS Sketch Challenge 95

Challenges: Double Trouble challenge #102 Something, Anything, Everything (Thing 1 = anything goes + Thing 2 = played along with 3 former partners!);  Dies R Us #186 Love theme + use a metal die; Retro Rubber #175 Love theme + use a stamp older than one year (used several sets purchased between 2009 and 2020); Inspiration Station #22 Warm Up With a Cup photo inspiration (used the color scheme of red, white, blue, and black AND scrapped snow photos AND  stamped an image of a thermal cup).
