Walk to the Park Layout

Love these photos of me and my family on a Thanksgiving Day walk to the park. We decided to try taking our cat with us and, needless to say, he wasn't very happy about it, but everyone else had fun. The bottom right photos lifts up to reveal a photo of the cat plus another picture of my family.

Here's the picture of my cat. He actually looks pretty calm compared to when we were trying to pull him along on the leash!

Besties {Reece & Minnie} Layout

I am trying to make my yearly goal of 100 layouts and had four left as of this morning, but I cranked one out this morning, and then this layout with sweet photos of my hubby's niece and her Minnie Mouse came together relatively quickly. Only two left to go now, but only one day of 2020 left, so hopefully I can make it!

Recipe:
Craft On papers
Dream Pop embossed cardstock
Bluebird cardstock
Canary, Pixie, Carolina & Bluebird ink
Black marker
Flamingo Dots
Best Friends cardstock sticker (Photoplay)
Pink ric-rac (Berwick)

Challenges: Color My Heart # 424 Non-traditional Colors (the instructions indicated it didn't have to be a Christmas layout, so I immediately thought of these photos of my niece)

Decorating SVCC 2015 Layout

The tradition of getting together with a group of people and helping decorate our church for Christmas is one we really missed this year. Darn 2020! To create this layout, I dug through my stash of old CTMH Christmas papers and pulled out a pack that contained only scraps, perfect for the sketch I decided to use. I rounded it out with a few PML cards from the coordinating kit and some old cork alphabet stickers for the title.

Recipe:
Pear & Partridge papers & PML cards
Desert Sand cardstock
Cranberry & New England Ivy ink
Black marker
White gel pen (Sakura)
Cork Color-Ready Alphabet stickers

Just Be Layout

Just some random pictures of my two youngest kids at McDonalds after church, but their outfits inspired me to use a sticker that's been in my stash for a while, which also inspired me to use the black and white color scheme with pops of red. Hope you like!

For Always & Sweetheart papers

San Diego Cousins Layout

My hubby is fortunate to have many cousins close by that we can visit, and there is never a shortage of kids present when we spend time with his family in San Diego! To scrapbook this photo of our kids with their San Diego cousins, I dug into my stash and found this old DCWV family themed patterned paper, and then I used the Sketches in Thyme sketch seen below to help me build a wreath of circles around the picture. A sprinkle of punched hearts and flowers and a couple of ephemera pieces and I was done!

Recipe:
The Stack 4 papers (DCWV)
Chocolate, Cotton Candy, Raspberry, Lagoon, Nectarine, Toffee & White Daisy cardstock
Brown marker (Zig)
Oh Happy Day Bit & Pieces ephemera (Simple Stories)

IKEA Layout

In these dark days when our family hasn't been to the Ikea restaurant for almost a year, it was nice to look back on happier times when we got to enjoy a little Christmas celebration with my son's birth mom, her two other kids, and her mom at the local Ikea. We weren't expecting the restaurant to serve a Swedish feast (a friend told me it's called a smorgasbord) or to have a cookie decorating area for the kids, so that was a sweet bonus to a visit with extended family!

I also had to include a photo of the cookie my daughter decorated. It didn't end up on my layout because the colors clashed, but we thought her sense of decorating was hilarious!
Recipe:
Jingle All the Way papers (Simple Stories)
Snowhaven papers
Whisper, Black, Cranberry & White Daisy cardstock
Black & Cranberry ink
Black marker
Jingle All the Way Journaling Bits & Pieces (Simple Stories)

Miss Suzie's Class Layout

Sometimes it's fun to give new life to products that are really old. For example, I was going to use the MAMBI Kids stickers for a layout several years ago and had already matted them and put adhesive on the back, but then I decided they didn't really work, so I stuck them on my plastic stamp carousel. They happened to catch my eye as I was starting this layout, and a little bit of new adhesive made them good as new. Love the accent they add to this story about my daughter's Sunday school class!

Recipe:
Field Notes papers (American Crafts)
Pastel vellum (Paper Pizzazz)
Crystal Blue & White Daisy cardstock
Pear, Crystal Blue, Blush, Raspberry & Black ink
Black marker
Kid stickers (MAMBI)
Illustrated Faith Family die-cuts (Bella Blvd)
Crystal Blue brads
Cricut Design Studio: title using A Child's Life font

Tristan's Happy-ish Birthday Layout

My eldest son's birth family has welcomed us into their family with open arms, so we are privileged to celebrate birthdays and other holidays with them. This layout is extra special because it includes two photos of my son with his half brother, the birthday boy. Love seeing them together! I also was able to use my brand new paper pack Party Time from CTMH. I love that it has boy theme/colors on one side and girl theme/colors on the other so I can coordinate with multiple events using the same paper pack.

Recipe:
Stacy's Hand, Felicity & Limited Edition stamp sets
Party Time papers & stickers
Lagoon, Sapphire & White Daisy cardstock
Sunny Yellow, Glacier, Lagoon, Sapphire & Green Apple ink
Lagoon & Clover Meadow markers

A sketch from The Studio Challenges was a perfect starting point for scrapping these fun photos of my cat Thor's first experience with a Christmas tree. EMS Sketch Challenge 96 - Bass Pro Shop Layout

Hopefully you have had some time to work on a layout using last month's sketch, because here comes a new one! I seem to do a lot of seven photo sketches; for some reason, that tends to be how many photos I need to scrapbook, so that's what I create. Enjoy the sketch, change it up as needed, and don't forget to post a link to your completed layout so I can leave some love.

Princess Leia Hairdo Layout

My daughter wanted to be Princess Leia for Halloween one year, but the wig that came with the costume wouldn't fit over her thick black hair, so I had to scour the internet to find out how to do the Princess Leia buns. As this layout reveals, it took a few tries to get something that didn't look like a scraggly mess!

Joy of Sets 24 + Merry Layout

Today I'm sharing my final layout for Joy of Sets, which will also be the final tic-tac-toe board for the challenge blog. Joy of Sets has been going for two years now, and hopefully a lot of you got to play along in that time, but if not, here's your last chance. Check out the board below and submit your cards or scrapbook layouts by December 31st. I used the middle row across with sparkle, non-traditional, and snowflakes, plus the right hand column with glitter, snowflakes, and boughs, and it will be a while before I stop brushing glitter off my desk and hands and clothes! But it's okay because it makes me happy just to look at this layout.

The sparkle doesn't show up well on my scan, so here are some close-up of the glittery snowflakes and bough:

And here's the tic-tac-toe board:

Recipe:
Traditional Christmas papers (KI Memories)
Topiary, Espresso & White Daisy cardstock
Vellum
Topiary, Cotton Candy & Ruby ink
Brown marker (Zig)
Versamarker

Silver cord (from my stash)

Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge: tags
Pattern: EMS Sketch 69

Sleepy Sunday Layout

Every year when Daylight Savings rolls around, our Sunday school host a Sleepy Sunday event where the kids and teachers wear their pajamas to church and play games and eat breakfast. Since this event is centered around the time change, I cut out a big clock to use on the right hand page in place of the wreath pictured in the sketch I used. The llama paper and ephemera may seem a little random, but it makes more sense when you see the llama themed pocket card I created to go in the photo storage page that will fit in between the two pages of this layout. I also pre-printed my journaling on a photo and it fits in another of the pockets, so I posted that below the layout.

Journaling Pocket card:
Llama pocket card:
