One Awesome Kid Layout

This layout went through so many iterations that I lost count, but it looks nothing like what I originally had in mind. Can anyone relate? I had two random photos of my son that I wanted to scrap, so I chose a two photos sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap, but I decided not to use one of the photos because it was very dark. Instead I grabbed a pocket card and added it in place of one photo. I'm not sure I love the rainbow paper on here, but it had been in my stash for a while, so I am happy I used some of it.

Pug Party Games Layout

I finished scrapping the rest of the photos for my son's pug themed birthday party back in 2020, but for some reason that I cannot now remember, these photos never got scrapped. Here they are at last! My husband and I had a good time thinking up doggy themed games for the party, but we weren't sure the kids would appreciate them. Fortunately, they loved them and had a great time playing along.

Play Date Layout

For these fun photos of a playdate with my eldest's son's birth mom and siblings, I pulled out a stamp set I had purchased last July in anticipation of scrapping this layout. Can't believe it took me this long to get to it! I stamped the "Play Date" title on a pocket card and then colored it in using my ShinHan markers.

Sing Christmas Layout

It's usually challenging to capture photos of kids singing because they are frequently moving as well, but I managed to get a few shots during practice and our church service of the Sunday school kids singing Go Tell It on the Mountain. Yes, the obnoxious boy making faces in the background of the soloists is our son, but fortunately the top photos were taken during practice and he behaved himself in church - LOL!

Brothers & BFFs Layout

This layout went in a different direction than I originally intended. I was simply going to do an intro page for a trip to the Natural History Museum, but I kept looking at the picture of my boys together and wanted somehow to celebrate their brotherly bond. I then happened upon the "Best Advice Ever" journaling card in the My Crush Best Day Ever Assortment, and I decided to write some advice to my boys about treasuring their relationship. The friends forever and BFF die-cuts were lucky finds, too, since I was actually looking for a brothers die-cut, but I love what they add to the layout, and hope they express my wish for my boys.

EMS Sketch Challenge 34 - The Looong Flight Home

Anyone up for a sketch challenge? I haven't done one for a few weeks, so here's one I came up with this morning! It's pretty simple, but I threw a couple variations into my layout. First, I rounded the corners of the large paper and the right hand photo so I wouldn't have as many straight angles. I also replaced the stars with clocks to reflect my theme. Since my journaling was way too long for the space I had designated, I cut an opening in the paper that holds the photo collage, and I inserted a journaling strip behind it. You pull up on the tab in order to reveal a little bit of the journaling at a time. Fun idea I got from Jeanette Lynton's latest pattern book, Magic. Except for a vacation that I will scrap separately, this is the last of my photos from 2007. Yay!

LOAD #1 - Sledding

It's the first day of the month, and I am in the mountains at a scrapbook retreat! I'm getting quite a lot done, so here is my first layout for the month. For the background, I cut out some snowflakes on a Cricut using the Art Philosophy cartridge from CTMH, and I used them as masks around which I sponged Lilac Mist ink. I placed a snowflake border and a few individual snowflakes on the page as well. Off to a good start on my LOAD, and I hope a few people want to play along with me. If so, I'll check out your blog daily for your latest layout, and please do the same for me. This will be a hard challenge considering how busy I have been lately, but I think I can, I think I can!

Heart 2 Heart Sketch Challenge #6 - Car Wash

I've had this layout done for a while, but I had to wait until today to post it because it's for the Heart 2 Heart blog sketch challenge for this month. Mary very kindly invited me to join the design team as the sketch challenge gal, so here's my first sketch! Featuring four uncropped 4" X 6" photos and three 3" x 4" photos, this sketch is great for photos that you already have printed or for times when you can't print out odd size photos. You can also add a Flip-Flap to one or both of the bottom photos on the right hand page if you need to include more photos. I cut my wavy border using the curvy cutter from CM, but you could combine several Color Ready Borders for a similar look. Hope you get a chance to try out the sketch. Remember, it's a starting place, so feel free to play with it until it fits your needs.
