EMS Sketch Challenge 83 + Trimming the Tree Layout

A while back, I had pinned a layout sketch to Pinterest, but when I went back to look at it, it was very hard to see (pretty low definition), and the source link was no longer valid. I loved the sketch, so I decided to re-create it so other people can enjoy it, too. It's not an exact copy, but still, big thanks to whoever originally created the sketch! For my layout, I pulled out an old but dearly loved CTMH paper pack called Jingle and used it for the patterned paper sections, including the cute tree border on the bottom. My finishing touch was to add some shine to each ornament: the green one I coated using a Shimmer Brush, on a second one I used silver washi tape, and to the final one I added an outline of sparkles.

LOAD #7 - Pennypickles

Before I show you today's layout, I want to thank the ladies that have been participating in the LOAD challenge. You are all doing a great job, and it's so fun to see your layouts every day. We need 2 more participants in order to have the prize drawing, so anyone who has been thinking about joining, please start posting! You have until tomorrow to post your first layout. Just a quick clarification. We're counting layouts, not pages, so please post double page layouts as one LOAD, not on two separate days. Thanks! Now for today's layout. If you live in Southern California and have kids, a trip to Pennypickles Imagination Workshop in Temecula is a great way to spend an afternoon. We went with four kids ranging from four years old to eight, and they had a great time. Even older kids would probably appreciate it and be able to get more out of the science behind the hands-on exhibits. The adults really enjoyed it, too!

Christmas Morning Layout

Good Monday morning, everyone. I know I have been posting a sketch challenge on Mondays, but I'll let you in on a little secret: I don't have one ready yet this morning! Ooops. I will try to work on it during the day, even though I have my older son home from school for Spring Break. In the meantime, here is a layout I've been working on for a couple of days, and I finally forced myself to stop playing and just finish it. I used that wonderful Jingle paper, and the fun new stamp set "Stocking Style." Don't you love the tiny alphabet that comes with that set? I can think of so many uses for it! If you want to check out the whole set, it's in the Winter 2009 idea book from CTMH. Enjoy.
