Winner Layout for Lasting Memories #690

Thank goodness for Lasting Memories, because with how busy my life is right now, I don't know if I would ever get scrapping done unless I was creating layouts for the challenges! Here is the latest and final challenge for February's We Go Together theme: be inspired by famous couple Barbie and Ken by using an item for every letter of their names. I love challenges that make me put on my thinking cap, and I certainly needed it as I tried to figure out what items from my stash would fit with each letter. Happy Graduation Layout for Lasting Memories # 688

I'm hosting the challenges over at Lasting Memories this month and chose the theme of "We Go Together" in honor of Valentine's Day. Today's challenge is to create a layout and a card using the same products (or two layouts if cards aren't your thing). I decided to scrapbook a graduation layout and create a congratulations card using pretty much the same supplies, which was handy since I didn't even have to pull any other products out. If you would like to join in on the fun, pop on over to Lasting Memories before the end of the month to enter this or any of our other February challenges!

Here's my layout:

The framed photo is popped up to create a pocket to hold another photo and my journaling card:

And here's my coordinating card:

The first one is simple: use complementary colors (colors opposite each other on the color wheel). I chose yellow and purple for my colors and was able to incorporate lots of both those colors. Even my photos have a bunch of yellow and purple. If you would like to join in with this challenge, click on the link above to get the details and to see the color wheel. Here's my layout.
