Tomorrowland Layout

Every month, there is a Baker's Dozen Challenge over at Scrapbook.com, in which people suggest 13 items to use on a layout. Sometimes the list comes together really easily, and sometimes it's quite a struggle to get all the items on my layout. Here's the layout I created this month, along with the list. Can you find all the items? A couple of the less obvious ones would be my bargain buy (I used a paper pack that I purchased as a bulk item back when I was a CTMG consultant) and the printer (I printed Tomorrowland repeatedly on the circle).

Baker's Dozen Items:
1. Bargain buy
2. Sketch
3. Die-cuts
4. Torn paper
5. Patterned paper
6. Washi tape
7. wooden embellishment
8. Ribbon, twine, or lace
9. Gesso or white paint
10. Printer or label maker
11. 6 or more brads
12. Something green
13. Buttons

Recipe:
ProPlayer papers
Pacifica, Ruby, Pewter & White Daisy cardstock
Vellum
Pewter & Black ink
Black brads
Big black brads (from my stash)
Star brads (Creative Impressions)
Craft buttons

Today Is a Good Day Layout

Not sure where all the gals were this day, but the guys got into the action either flying kites or watching them be flown. To scrap these photos, I knew I wanted to use the older CTMH Zoe papers because they came with a pretty kite sticker, so I just needed to find a sketch that worked. With a few tweaks, the current Stick It Down double pager fit the bill, and it came together pretty easily from there.

Recipe:
Zoe papers & cardstock stickers
Sweet Leaf, Smoothie & White Daisy cardstock
Canary, Mint, Smoothie & Slate ink
Warm Grey gel pen (Cricut)
My Crush Bestie Assortment stickers
Seas the Day enamel dots
Pattern: Stick It Down March 2022 sketch

Challenges: Lasting Memories #591 Finishing Touches (I used enamel dots)

Skating Party Invitations

My daughter wants a skating party for her birthday, so I booked the venue and then set to work designing and creating invitations. I had to use older supplies from when I was a CTMH consultant, since I needed to be sure I had enough of the same papers to use for multiple invitations. The old Laughing Lola papers from CTMH seemed to fit the bill; they are just cute enough to make me happy and just Goth enough to make my teenaged daughter happy! It's a little hard to see in the photo, but I used a clear shimmer brush to add some shine to the wheels on the skates.

I also created another variant for the boys' invitations, since I figured they wouldn't be excited about purple and sparkles! Instead of sparkles, I used black pearls. Not sure which invitation I like more, but it was fun figuring out the details of each.

Recipe (Card 1):
Laughing Lola papers
Crystal Blue, Saffron & Black cardstock
Crystal Blue, Thistle, Saffron & Black ink
White gel pen (Sakura)
ShinHan Touch Twin marker
Clear shimmer brush
Bitty sparkles
Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug)
Cricut Design Space: Let's Roll die-cut

Recipe: (Card 2):
Noted Backgrounds stamp set
ProPlayer papers
Slate, Whisper, Ruby & Black cardstock
Slate, Outdoor Denim, Ruby & Black ink
White gel pen (Sakura)
ShinHan Touch Twin marker
Licorice Opaques pearls
Cricut Design Space: Let's Roll die-cut
Pattern: Try Stampin' on Tuesday #547 (slightly modified, because that's what I do!)

Challenges: Allsorts Challenges #668 Feminine theme; Festive Friday #0105 (For the girly card, I chose sparkles, polka dots, rhinestones & layers)

Easter Gifts Layout

We didn't have Easter baskets for the kids in  2016, but family friends ended up giving the kids gifts, so it all worked out. I had pulled out the Easter Bunny stamp set for my Easter egg hunt layout but it really didn't go with the big flowers, so I sneaked it in here. Love that cute little bunny with his basket of eggs!

Recipe:
Easter Bunny stamp set
Topstitch papers
Glacier, Heavenly Blue, Chocolate, Blush & Colonial White cardstock
Chocolate & Black ink
ShinHan Touch Twin markers
Clear embossing powder
Blush polka dot ribbon
Mocha Opaques pearls
White baker's twine (Recollections)
Scalloped border punch (Fiskars)
Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cricut)
Circle Double Stitched steel dies (Art Impressions)
Cricut Design Space: title
Pattern: EMS Sketch Challenge 8a

Challenges: Lasting Memories #589 Love Your Stash - Trims (used ribbon and baker's twine); Scrap With Stacy March Tac Tac Toe (used the diagonal with border punch + circles + die-cuts)
Tic Tac Toe Challenges #153 (used the middle row across with Die-cuts + coloring + Easter bunny)

Easter 2016 Layout

My kids are too old for Easter egg hunts now, so it was sweet to scrap these photos of them racing around the backyard and then proudly displaying their finds to me and my hubby! I tried some fun mixed media techniques on this layout by lightly stamping on the scalloped frame and then inking over the stamping, plus I added shimmer to the butterflies, title, and flowers.

In the scan of the layout, it's hard to see the shimmer on the butterflies, so here's a close up of it.

Recipe:
Universal Backgrounds stamp set
Let's Wander papers (American Crafts)
Glacier & White Daisy cardstock
Paper Pizzazz Pastel vellum (Hot off the Press)
Heavenly Blue organdy ribbon
Shimmer Brush - clear
Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge: butterflies
Cricut Artbooking: scalloped frame
Cricut Design Space: Easter title
Challenges: Lasting Memories #590 Love Your Stash die-cuts; Scrap Our Stash Springtime theme + flowers; Tic Tac Toe Challenges #152 (used the top row across with Easter + butterfly + vellum and the bottom row across with die-cuts + spring colors + floral)

Big Celebration Layout

It's possible my new sketch will end up being one of my favorites, as I already used it again for another set of photos! This time, I changed up the design by using the left photo spot for a journaling card that doubled as my title, and I also adapted one of the photo spaces to fit a smaller photo and a journaling spot. In case you missed it, here's the sketch again:

And my layout:

Recipe:
Party Time papers & cardstock stickers
It's Your Birthday papers and die-cuts (Echo Park)
Glacier, Green Apple, Sapphire, Lagoon, Lemonade & White Daisy cardstock
Green Apple, Lagoon, Sapphire, Nectarine & Sunny Yellow ink
Black marker
Aqua Dots
Cricut Artbooking cartridge: photo frame
Crimper
Challenges: Let's Craft and Create #181 Anything Goes (I used the green part of the optional twist but not the purple); Use Your Stuff #443 Masculine (used the masculine side of the patterned papers - the other side is pink!)

EMS Sketch Challenge 101 + Furry Friends Layout

I made it to 100 sketches last year and was going to stop making them since that seemed like a nice round number to me, but when I couldn't find a sketch for these photos, I couldn't resist the urge to create a new sketch! I changed my sample layout up by using a large photo on the left hand page. Hope some of you scrappers out there will be able to use the sketch. Feel free to change it up as needed, and don't forget to post a link to your completed layout in the comments section below. Happy scrapping!
