Soccer Smiles Layout

My daughter's 2018 soccer team had bright green uniforms, so when it came to scrapping her picture day photos, I went with the brightest green I could find in my scrap pile! Then I pulled out a bunch of sports themed stamps and added patterns to the hexagons that I cut out using my Cricut.

A Perfect 10 Layout

In 2017, my daughter just happened to have the #10 jersey for her soccer team, so when it came time to scrapbook these photos of her on picture day, I thought it would be fun to list different characteristics, ending with "a perfect 10!" I had to drag out a lot of stamps to complete the list and now have to put them all away, but at least some sets that have been a bit neglected got to see the light of day.

Today's page uses the same pattern (Small Packages) as yesterday's, and it's the same subject (soccer pictures), but you can see how the two look totally different because I used different supplies. I also used stitching on both layouts, but whereas yesterday's featured embroidery floss, today I got lazy and just used a marker to create faux stitches.

LOAD #16 - Red Devils

I'm home after a long but fulfilling day at a leadership seminar, and I have my layout completed. Woohoo! I used the pattern Small Packages from Imagine for this one, and so I was able to pack in 12 photos and hopefully not have it look too busy. I also hope that any physics majors who see this layout are not too hard on me regarding the trajectory of the soccer ball. It's probably physically impossible, but I'm a scrapbooker, so you have to cut me some slack!

LOAD #7 - Stingers

Wow, I'm posting earlier today than I have the whole week. Monica, I hope you're proud of me! Here's the latest layout. It's probably a little hard to see, but I random stamped the Honey cardstock using the bees from the Bee Mine stamp set (the Petite Perks Set from this quarter's idea book). I wanted a subtle effect, so I used Creme Brulee ink. I also used the bees for my embellishments, but I had to add a little stinger to them since my son's team is called the Stingers. I finished them with a little Liquid Glass and a foam square to pop them up. Looking forward to seeing today's layouts from everyone.

Soccer Team Layout

I was so excited when my oldest son, Adrian, wanted to sign up for soccer this Spring. We were so blessed that he had a great first season, that his coach was wonderful, and that he had such a supportive team. They didn't win every game, but Adrian had a great time and wanted to sign up again in the Fall. I tried to get pictures of his whole team, and I almost succeeded. There is only one player who isn't listed on this layout, and that's because I couldn't find a clear picture of her. Sorry Katalina! The layout was created using the pattern Supporting Cast from Imagine. My favorite part (beside the photos, of course) is the title letters. I stamped Dimensional Elements Monograms with Versamark ink using the dots from Spot On Backgrounds, and I embossed the dots in white. I then used my brayer to apply Desert Sand ink to the letters, and wiped off the excess ink with a tissue. I arranged the title, substituting the soccer ball for an "O", and I love the finished look!

Soccer Coach Gift - Part 2

I managed to finish the second of my soccer coach gifts in spite of having no power to the house today. I used the same color scheme but a totally different layout, and I added some of the Color-Ready Alphabet stickers to spell out the word coach. Originally I had used my spounge daubers to add Creme Brulee ink to the white stickers, but they still looked too plain, so I dabbed the edges with some Autumn Terracotta ink to give them a little pop. Much better! I also got smart and photographed the layout before I put it into a frame, so you can see it without the lovely reflection of the photographer. Yay, so glad this is done and I can start scrapping my Hawaii vacation from 2006. I'm playing some catch-up on older photos since I have scrapped January through May of this year.

Soccer Coach Gift

I was asked by the team mom for my son Adrian's soccer team to create a framed layout to give to the coach and assistant coach at the team party. Well, the party is this weekend, so I figured I ought to get myself moving on this project! The team mom bought the frames, and getting the kids to sign the mat without the coaches seeing them was a trick, but I love that they all left their personal touch on the gift! Here is the first completed project. I was planning to adapt one of the patterns from Cherish (Dynamic Design), but as I was trying to figure out my color scheme, I had placed scraps of paper on the Moonstruck cardstock to see what colors went with the photo. I asked my husband his opinion, and he told me he really liked the design I'd created. I laughed and told him I really just wanted his opinion on the color scheme. He replied, "Looks great, but I think you need to use the arrangement of papers, too." I let it sit on my desk for a few days while I was working on other projects, and I finally decided he was right. So thanks, Greg, for your inspiration! Thanks also to the ladies on the CTMH consultant bulletin board, who offered feedback on my initial design. Now I'm off to finish #2. Our power will be turned off at 9am today while the electric company replaces a power pole on our street, so hopefully I can complete this project without electricity this morning. We're escaping to a friend's house this afternoon to take advantage of the air conditioning and pool. Wish me luck!

Soccer

I finished most of this layout a while ago, but never got around to journaling on it. While I believe a picture is worth a thousand words, there are still some pictures that require explanation (like these ones). Now the layout is finally complete, and I wanted to share it with you. My son started soccer in March for the first time, and I wanted to capture his excitement over his first practice. Actually, he remained excited for the whole season, which doesn't always happen, so we were grateful he has found something that he really loves to do. The pattern for the layout is Duplicate Patterns (right hand page) from Cherish. I used the Best Shot stamp set to create the title and the little picture squares. Love this set, and I'm thinking I'll get a lot of mileage out of it! The circle patterned paper is discontinued, and I'm not even sure of the name, since it was a freebie from before I became a CTMH consultant. For the title, I wanted to use the mesh stamp, but I also wanted the word soccer to show up well, so I second generation stamped the mesh. Basically, I inked up the stamp in Cocoa ink, stamped it on a scratch piece of paper, and then stamped it on my cardstock. This is a great way to get a perfectly matched color but in a lighter shade. How's that for my tip of the day? I'm sure you will see more soccer layouts posted by me, but I'm really happy with how this first one turned out.
