Sharing Joy Layout

Although I would like to say it's a treasured tradition in our family, taking our annual Christmas card photo is probably more of a dreaded occasion for our kids as the adults fuss around with getting the camera set up just right to frame our family, not to mention the multiple retakes due to someone having their eyes closed or my hubby not making it back into the scene before the timer ends! Nevertheless, we usually end up with that perfect pose, and it sure makes for a fun and memorable layout.

Here are a couple details of the layout. Just wanted to show the Gold Stickles, the crimped cardstock, and the eyelets with the ribbon threaded through.

White Pines Embossed Christmas Card

I haven't been posting much on my blog this month, but I have been crafting! Last Friday night was my Christmas card workshop so I've been busy designing cards and cutting out all the pieces for my gals. One of my cards took me a while to design, but once it started coming together, I loved it. Hope you do, too. I used an emboss resist technique to stamp the trees and stars on white cardstock, and then sponged over the embossed images. After wiping off the excess ink from the image, I was left with a pretty scene as a focal point for the card.

LOAD #10 - Jingle

I think I went a little crazy with the bows on this layout! I started with one, and it just took off from there. Does anyone recognize the pattern I used? It's Sketch #32 that I posted last month. I'm building up a big enough library of sketches that I can refer to them and reuse them without it seeming like I'm using the same ones over and over. Love that! The layout has a space for journaling, but since it's all personal family stuff, I'm going to finish it later. By the way, still no fix for my computer, so you may be seeing very low-quality photographs of my layouts for a while. Bummer.
