Walk Through California Layout

All of my kids have participated in the Walk Through California program during their fourth grade year, so here is Elliot's layout of that event. He was a saguaro cactus because his "expert word" was Desert.

Juniper, Almond, Black & White Daisy cardstock
Juniper, Almond, Desert Sand, Black & Versamark ink

Love Letters rub-ons
Opaque Texture Paste (Ranger)
Dot Fade Layering stencil (Stampers Anonymous)

Challenges: NBUS #79  my never before used schtuff is the California stamp set (bought it years ago for this layout but am just now getting to it); Stencil Fun Anything Goes using a stencil - just a little stenciling on the corner using some texture paste, but I love how it gives some interest to the black cardstock

I'm trying to create more sketches these days, so here's another double with a variety of photo sizes. Either page could be used as a single layout as well.

The sketch:

Cat Party Card

My daughter asked for a cat party for her birthday, so the first step was making her invitations. I started with a cute card sketch from Atlantic Hearts challenge blog but, since I wanted to go vertical on my card base, I tightened up the design by moving the circles together. The card went through several revisions and I ended up simplifying it a bit because I just couldn't face hand cutting glitter tape for 30 cards (can anyone relate?) but I'm pretty happy with the final result!
Recipe:
Fanfare, Welcome Baby & One Way Borders stamp sets
Laughing Lola Level 2 papers
Slate, Whisper, Crystal Blue & White Daisy cardstock
Crystal Blue, Thistle & Black ink
Black & Gold Metallic markers
Purple Glitter Gem
Cricut Artistry cartridge: banner
Cricut Chore Chart cartridge: cat
Challenges: Bitten By the Bug 2 banner or sign challenge

Babycakes Thanks Card

Today I started working on the cards for my upcoming Babycakes workshop, and found inspiration from this sketch from Retro Sketches:
Since I will be having about ten ladies at the workshop, and cutting a bunch of little pieces at a diagonal sounded like a big pain, I decided to stamp the bottom half of the card. I was inspired by this card, but used a new stamp set called One-Way Borders to stamp all the arrows. Popped up the center sentiment and added a bow, and it's done. Simple but I hope my ladies will like it!

Recipe:
One way Borders & Art Philosophy Tags stamp sets
Babycakes Level 2 papers
Colonial White cardstock
Chocolate, Sunset & Buttercup ink
Sunset marker
Chocolate grosgrain ribbon
Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge: scalloped circle
