Happiness Is Homemade Layout

I wasn't sure I was going to scrap these photos of assembling my daughter's new dresser from IKEA, but when I saw the current challenge from Time Out Challenges, the sign "Make and Create" inspired me to share about our experience. After all, it was part of everyday life that I shouldn't skip, even if it isn't as glamorous as birthday parties or amusement parks!

{You} Made It Layout

To scrap these photos of a friend's new baby, I played along with several challenges, including the Heart's Quest challenge to use hearts and a congratulations theme. The song lyrics, "Looks like we made it" kept running through my mind, so I shortened and adapted it to {You} Made It, with a special note of congratulations to the new parents as my journaling.

Parents' and baby's names blanked out to protect privacy.

Offline Fun Layout for Lasting Memories #660

Welcome to a new week and a new challenge from Lasting Memories. It's the last one this month, so you only have a week left to play with any of the July challenges. I hope you are inspired and play along. In line with her "Things Learned in Preschool" theme, this time Brandi asked us to select any group of 3 consecutive letters (ABC or LMN, etc.) and use an item on our layout for each letter, plus use 1, 2 and 3 of an item.  There was so much scope with the whole alphabet to play with, but I still ended up using letters right at the beginning. Here's my list and my layout:

B - Blue skies and Brushed paper packs
C - circles and chipboard alphas
D - die-cuts
1 - sticker and bow
2 - word phrases
3 - butterflies

Recipe (all supplies CTMH except where noted):

Under the Wrappings Layout

I missed last week's Christmas in July challenge from Double Trouble, so I was excited to see they had a new Christmas challenge, this time asking us to include a Santa hat. While I was trying to figure out how to add the hat, I noticed Farm Quest Challenges had a bear challenge and, in one of photos, my son was reading from a Christmas book called Little Cub. What could be more perfect than to add the bear die-cut I found over on Cricut Design Space and give him a Santa hat and a present to hold? Great inspiration from these challenge blogs!

And here's a close-up of the cute little die-cut bear:

Christmas Is a Time for Sharing Layout for Lasting Memories #658 - Sharing Is Caring

Happy Sunday, and welcome to another Lasting Memories challenges! Today Brandi is challenging us to scraplift a layout from one of the design team members, so I chose a layout that Lori created last month. I loved the simple multi-photo style with the fun torn edge and the circle element, so I adapted them for my layout. This whole week in Southern California we have finally experienced summer temperatures, so I decided to cool off by scrapbooking some Christmas photos.  I would love to have you join us over at Lasting Memories before July 29th for this and any of the other challenges!

Recipe:
Jingle All the Way papers (Simple Stories)
Pear & Partridge and July/August 2021 Mix-In papers
New England Ivy & Scarlet cardstock

Everyday Moments journaling card (Scrapbook.com)

I've scrapped quite a few walk-a-thon layouts over the years, but this is my first purple one! The Perfect Day Layout and Lasting Memories Reminder

Saturday is the last day you can enter our Lasting Memories challenges for June, so I thought I would play along one more time using the summer words play for CAMPERS. Here's the list of things I incorporated into my layout:

C - circles & camera sticker
A - arrows (on red circle)
M - metal brads
P - patterned paper
E - enamel dot
R - red cardstock
S - sunglasses stickers

And here's my layout. I love these fun photos of my kids enjoying the school luau and spending lots of Mom and Dad's money in the process. My favorite is the one of my son (in the Hawaiian shirt) pretending to walk like an Egyptian - LOL! Feel free to check out all the Lasting Memories challenges and play along with anything that sounds fun! Then check back on Sunday for a new set of challenges.

Going Up Layout

Since he's a recent high school grad, scrapbooking my son's elementary school photos sometimes seems like an exercise in futility, but he seems to enjoy it when I call him over to see whatever photos I'm working on, so I persevere! These photos were taken at his 2nd grade school luau (more like a carnival but with a slightly tropical feel), where the climbing wall was a huge hit with the kids. I scrapped the left page while the right hand page is actually a pocket page, but to show it here, I stitched the photos and journaling card together on the computer to avoid the glare of the plastic page protector.

Recipe:
Stitched Journaling panels stamp set (Autumn Leaves)
You & Me stamp set
The Summer Stack papers (DCWV)
Goldrush & White Daisy cardstock
Goldrush, Green Apple & Desert Sand ink
Sienna fineliner pen (iBayam)

Water Lane Layout

I really wanted to use some patterned papers I bought to scrap my London trip from 2017 (I've only been working on it six years - LOL!), so I skipped ahead to the Tower of London. These photos were taken just inside the Tower's entrance, at historic Water Lane, so named because it used to be right on the banks of the Thames until Edward I filled in part of the river and created the Outer Ward. We took some great photos at the Tower, but the one of my hubby with the Yeoman Guard (a Beefeater) is one of my favorites!

When I put it in the album, this layout will also include a Flip-Flap with two additional photos (St. Thomas' Tower and the Traitor's Gate) that will cover the journaling, so here they are:

Recipe:
Limited Edition, Make It Count, Distressed Backgrounds & Stipple Plaid stamp sets
Once Upon a Time paper (P13)
Candy Apple, Sapphire, Mist, Almond & White Daisy cardstock
Candy Apple, Sapphire, Mist, Almond & Slate ink
Grey Fineliner pen (iBayam)
Wood heart & arrow
Bamboo Bigger Brad
Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge: banners, tag
Pattern: EMS Sketch Challenge #95

Challenges: Heart's Quest Challenge Blog # 32 Travel + Love/hearts; Double Trouble #141 Something, Anything, Everything (Thing 1 = anything goes + Thing2 = played along with previous partner Cupcake Inspirations #572)

There's grey in there, too, but hopefully that's okay!
