LOAD #16 - Carnival

Today's layout is simple in design, but it allowed me to get 8 uncropped 4"x6" photos on a double page spread. I got the idea from the December 2009 edition of Creating Keepsakes magazine. One fun technique I used today: I didn't have any white brads left (used them all on my Christmas cards!), so I dipped the silver brads in Versamark ink, then White Daisy embossing powder, and then I heat set them. Viola - white brads. You can do this with any color of embossing powder, so I sure wish CTMH carried embossing powder to match all their colors. Maybe next idea book!

Recipe:
Cocktail Alphabet & Alphabet Solos "F" stamp sets
Giggles & Grins Level 2 papers
Giggles & Grins My Stickease
Sunny Yellow & Cranberry cardstock
Versamark ink
Cranberry, Black & Silver brads
Clear sparkles
Rhinestone frames
White Daisy Embossing powder
Black marker
White gel pen (Sakura)

Oops, I just remembered that I did crop one of my photos so that I would have a place for journaling. Thought I would point that out so no one would think I couldn't count!

Your attention to detail is amazing. So unlike me. :) Beautiful work, Cheryl.

Look at the amazing attention to detail on this one, ladies! Woo hoo! I am amazing! :) These are themes that Christina wrote in 6th grade. They are really special. One is about her Dad being her hero (before she became the typical teen). Another is about her sister.

Cheryl - I love the uncropped photo idea! I did a CRAZY christmas layout in my first daughter's book (that I just finished last month and she is 5 1/2!!!) that is pretty much solid photos except for the title and a large, matted 5x7 along one side...but I didn't do anything like your 'ribbon' to separate them...good idea!

I have my layout done, and took a picture of it...and then my camera battery died before i could download it to my computer...so...until I can get them charged overnight, or buy more tomorrow...my posting will have to wait!

I should have looked at this earlier might have helped with one of my layouts! I love the brads!

On the left, one of my kiddos refuses to take a nap but falls asleep in weird places!

On the right is swim lessons! All 4 kids at once!

Okay...here it is! Batteries are at least charged enough for tonight...now back on the charger they go! It's before midnight your time, so does this still count as "on time"?

This is another calendar layout, but I'm actually quite happy with it. It's a strange mix of colours, putting goldrush with the "Sweet Pea" pp, but between the fish logo on her chair and the sticker on the calendar...I thought I'd go with it! I added a few stamps (August word puzzle, hodgepodge alpha, and precious alpha) and the sassy strands in goldrush, then some journaling in a similar colour ink.

Beth, from what I've heard, it is possible Hector will become Christina's hero again some day, so be patient! Linda, I love the pictures of your child asleep at the table - too funny. Monica, I think the Goldrush goes great with the Sweet Pea. By the way, you can post anytime up to 7 days later and still not be late, so please don't stress out about getting them posted before midnight. I'm the only one allowed to stress about that - LOL!
